I received a Master degree in Physics in 2008 at the University of Pisa, with specialization in Physics of Matter. Then I moved to the University of Florence, where in 2012 I obtained the Ph.D. in Atomic and Molecular Spectroscopy. After being a post-doctoral fellow at the European Laboratory for Non-linear Spectroscopy (LENS), in the group of Francesco S. Pavone, in 2015 I became Research Scientist at the National Institute of Optics (INO) of the Italian National Research Council (CNR). Since 2019 I am an assistant professor at the Department of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Florence. I am working in the field of light-sheet microscopy of cleared specimens, developing novel methods in tissue preparation, optical imaging and image analysis. My research focus is on the application of whole-brain quantitative imaging to study large-scale circuits involved in fear memory.
